About: We were approached by a property developer looking for a garden designer in Alderley edge. The brief was to create a contemporary, minimalist landscape scheme for two new build luxury developments on the site of an old agricultural building.
The two properties, although almost identical, had two very different shaped boundaries which led us to create two varying designs. Similar in approach, one one garden is very formal and angular whereas the other more organic.
Sharing a matching material pallet of composite Millboard decking, Italian porcelain, clay pavers and black basalt gravel, the hard edges are softened by a naturalistic planting scheme and wildflower meadow. Architectural features such as the glass roof steel pergola juxtapose with the soft landscaping.
A striking variety of mature trees including pleached parasol Morus Alba, Cyrus Chanticleer, Parrotia persicaria and Betula Utilis provide a variety of form and character throughout the seasons.
