Brief: An elegant modern courtyard garden design in Chorlton with a formal rill / fish pond and outdoor living area under a bespoke steel and timber pergola. The client brief spoke of a contemporary city oasis more fitting of the property’s architecture, providing focal points around the garden.

The bold architectural structure frames the seating area adding a focal point whilst providing some dappled shade. A textured clay paver patio is framed by a porcelain border and lush shade tolerant planting and serves as the location for an outdoor living room with comfy garden sofas. Dividing the garden is a contemporary rill, a reflective fish pond with floating stepping stones providing a sanctuary for wildlife and creating a calming, elegant atmosphere. Porcelain paving provides a practical surface with a contemporary aesthetic and the gravel adds texture. Multi stem trees frame the garden by adding height and structure to the wild, textured planting.
